More than just your basic photo idea book! August 23, 2010 Jocelyn I became aware of this book after seeing it in the library and my initial thumb through had me checking it out. OH MY WORD! I'm not sure many of the techniques were as interesting as the hilarity of the writers intro to each project and the often comedic comments in the directions. "Empty the tealight holder. Either dump it out or burn it until it's gone. Mourn it. Get over it."
As a scrapbooker and photography buff, I came across so many terrific ideas in this book I decided I had to own it. This was my first Amazon purchase and I found an excellent price and had my own copy in less than a week.
I really enjoyed the 365 day project and the one where you take a picture of yourself from when you were a child and re-create it as you are now. My grandsons love the rubik's cube project. The idea for printing photos on "covers" of laptop bags, wallets etc.. while not a new idea, it's certainly one of the few books to put it in print with directions.
Highly reccommend this book to people who like to do "things" with their photographs. Many inspiring ideas in this book.
Jocelyn
Love this book! June 10, 2010 Veronica Carrillo (Phoenix, AZ) This book is seriously amazing. It's full of creative ideas for any regular person with a point an shoot camera or an actual photographer with a DSLR. The projects are simple and unique and the instructions are easy to follow. The projects are also very affordable, most of them using materials you probably have around your house. It's also a lot bigger than it looks in the picture-- almost 200 pages!
Buy this book!
Revive your photo mojo with photo jojo! June 9, 2010 Missdeuxmont (Wellington, New Zealand) This colourful little beauty - full of fun photo projects, will help you find your photo mojo again! Or maybe you want to share your love of photography with the younger generation - either way you're guaranteed to find something fabulous in this book. Highly recommended.
Love, love, love Photojojo June 9, 2010 Linda Hux (Mentor, Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been reading the Photojojo emails for some time and really enjoy them. Then I saw the book and knew I had to get it. I put it on my Amazon wish list hoping that some sweet, kind person would get it for me. And sure enough, my daughter bought it for me for Mother's Day. I love the book and can't wait to get started making the great projects.
for the craft-challenged photographer in your life June 9, 2010 tristan I'm not crafty but I can take a decent picture - this is where Photojojo comes in. With the Photojojo book, I can make stuff with my pictures and let people think I'm a whiz with a glue gun, scissors, and a bunch of pipe cleaners. Ok, so maybe I'm exaggerating with the whole pipe cleaners thing but, seriously, this book will put all of those awesome pictures you have sitting on your computer to good use. Now you won't be the only one fawning over them. See? You're not the only one that likes to gaze upon their photographic handiwork.
Buy this book. You won't be sorry.
P.S. If you're still trying to figure out light painting...and jumping around in front of your camera with a handful of sparklers and the automatic settings isn't working - you can find some helpful tips on that here too. Again, you're welcome.
