Fast shipping and good service July 20, 2010 Trever070 I ordered this book for a Summer class that only lasted 5 weeks and the class had already started when I ordered, so I didn't have time to wait around for slow shipping. I ordered on a Wednesday and the book arrived on Friday. I couldn't be happier with the quick and reliable service I received. Ordering was fast and painless, I would absolutely order from them again. Thanks!!!!
good text book July 20, 2010 not mark twain (denver, co) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book for a class. I thought the book would be terribly dry as most text books are, but this one supprised me. I actually tried to read the entire book (instead of skimming like I usually do with a text book) because everything in it was very interesting. I also like the way it is set up with the stories in inserted boxes, and the key words highlighted and defined in the paragraph and also at the bottom of the page.
Very good text! November 13, 2009 Emily Rosa (Denver, CO USA) Had this text for a cultural anth class and I really enjoyed reading it. I recommend it to other anth instructors!
Not quite 2 day delivery... September 27, 2009 D. Christie (TX) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
A treat to purchase a new book, normally choose to get used. Paid for upgraded shipping (2 day) and didn't see it for almost 5 days. Good thing the prof had some other related readings in the library for the class members to use while waiting for ordered books! Didn't fall too far behind in readings while item was in transit.
Great Cultural Anthrop Text August 28, 2009 Kimberly R. Schilke 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Although my Professor is only using this text as a reference and Chapter 4 is a little challenging to get through- if you want to learn more about the peoples of the world - this is a great text. It provides challenges and honest truth about different peoples being oppressed by others and losing their cultures in the process. I think many Anthropologists try to fight discrimination and ignorance and this book follows that mind set. The highlighted stories are excellent and I find myself very amused when I read them.
